"Statement recorded by Ward E. Thompson and signed by Dr. Sun on Department of Commerce and Labor paper on April 14, 1904. He claimed he was born in Honolulu, had sworn allegiance to the U.S. before receiving a passport, and repudiated citizenship elsewhere."
