The Sun Yat-sen Hawaii Foundation had the honor of hosting the China Soong Ching Foundation on May 16 and 17, 2024. The distinguished delegation, led by Secretary General Zhang Jimin, visited Iolani School and Punahou School, where Dr. Sun Yat-sen received his education. The two foundations exchanged ideas for future cooperation, resulting in a very fruitful visit. Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park Reopened

A blessing and lei-draping ceremony was held on November 21, 2022, for the nearly half-acre Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park on the makai side of the Hawaii Theatre Center in downtown Honolulu. This event marked the completion of renovations to the park, achieved through partnerships between the City of Honolulu and neighboring businesses. The park’s original landscape was cleaned and paved and the statue of its namesake moved from the corner farthest from the street to the center of the park. The year 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of sister-city relations between the City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii, and the City of Zhongshan, Guangdong. Coming Soon…… Sun Yat-Sen and Soong Ching Ling Research Room at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa’s Hamilton Library   Hamilton Library holds a research collection of ~500 titles relating to the life and work of revolutionary Chinese leader Dr. Sun Yat-Sen and his wife the philanthropist Soong Ching Ling. Descendants of the Sun family as well as organizations dedicated to carrying on the legacy of Sun and Soong have donated books, materials, artifacts for the Research Room.
